AstraZeneca has today introduced the generic inhaler Ventolin HFA, which is the first inhaler to be approved for the treatment of asthma in the UK, and for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in adults. AstraZeneca is offering the Ventolin HFA for the treatment of the underlying cause of breathing problems in adults, from the age of 18 years who are suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. This is an inhaler used to treat bronchospasm (difficulty breathing) in patients with asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, which is a chronic respiratory disease. AstraZeneca is also working with the asthma care team to offer Ventolin HFA to treat patients who have been diagnosed with asthma, COPD, or bronchospasm after taking a dose of Ventolin HFA inhaler. This is in addition to the branded AstraZeneca inhaler Ventolin HFA which is available from AstraZeneca.

The Ventolin HFA is available as a 100mcg inhaler, and the branded AstraZeneca inhaler Ventolin HFA as a 100mcg inhaler.

This treatment will be available in the form of a 100mcg, 50mcg, and 50mcg tablet, and the branded AstraZeneca inhaler Ventolin HFA will be available in 100mcg and 200mcg inhalers.
